Frank Hamel MBE DL

Over the weekend we received the news that Frank Hamel, MBE, DL, a former County Commissioner for Bedforshire died peacefully in his sleep on Friday 19 October 2012 in the loving care of his family.

Frank was County Commissioner between 1979 and 1983 and has given over sixty years of service to Scouting.

The thoughts and prayers of all Scouts in the area will be with his family and friends as they mourn his death.


Irish, formerly known as Michael, a student with The Open University, living in Dublin with his husband Andrew and their three cats. Also interested in first aid, heraldry, Scouting, and occasionally to be found at the organ or in a bell tower.
