Sarah Heard after receiving her Wood Badge with Bromham Beaver ColonyWhen adults volunteer with Scouting they have excellent training that builds on their existing skills and helps them to develop new competencies. The training scheme which is run locally though to a national standard that allows members to access external awards from The National Open College Network, The Institute of Leadership and Management, and The Institute of Training and Occupational Learning. At the end of the compulsory training for adult leaders is the award of the Wood Badge.

In recent weeks, the Assistant Beaver Scout Leader at Bromham, Sarah Heard, received her Wood Badge from David White, the local training manager for Bedford, in front of the many excited Beavers present that evening.

Sarah was presented with a certificate, her Wood Badge, and a carved wooden shield given by Peter Dawson.
