District thanks for funeral honour guard

Bar to Silver Acorcn Uniform Badge

Peter had been awarded the Bar to Silver Acorn by The Scout Association

Following the funeral of Peter Sharples, Bedford District Scouts have been thanked by his widow, Sheila

I just wanted to thank you for the Honour Guard on Thursday at Peter’s funeral. It was so moving, going into church between them and we all nearly started crying at the very beginning of the Service! Please thank all the Scouts and Scouters who took part, from all Peter’s family.

Local District Commissioner, Graeme Watt said:

It was an honour and a privilege to be a part of the day. I would like to add my own thank you to everyone who attended.

Peter Sharples was a local Scouter who gave many years of service to Scouting across the UK not just in Bedford. He is sorely missed by all who knew him.

Irish, formerly known as Michael, a student with The Open University, living in Dublin with his husband Andrew and their three cats. Also interested in first aid, heraldry, Scouting, and occasionally to be found at the organ or in a bell tower.
