Scouts can do shooting: if leaders are prepared

Any Scout leaders in Bedfordshire who want to include shooting in their programme should be well instructed in the use of firearms, and must follow the rules regarding shooting in Policy, Organisation and Rules of The Scout Association (POR) which can be found online: Shooting in POR.

There is a NSRA Youth Proficiency Instructors Diploma Course being run at Bromham on the weekend of 16 and 17 November 2013. The course runs over two days and will cost £50. Topics being covered include: the law, safety, range construction, equipment; basic shooting techniques; dealing with malfunctions; different distances; sighting; scoring targets and competition; shooting games.
